Kicking Off the Fall in Style - Cookout at the Wallace Home 8/30/11 08/25/2011

Dear friends,

I hope your summer has been a good one! I want to invite you to our first Fall kick-off event: a cookout at the Wallace Home on Tuesday, August 30th, at 7:30 PM. We'll be grilling burgers, hot dogs, and veggie burgers (for our vegetarian friends!) as well as enjoying other delicious foods. Get to know the Fall Bible study leaders, and meet the people with whom you'll be meeting Christ in the Scriptures! For more information about this event, please contact Rob De La

As we gear up for a new school year, I just wanted to let you all know about what's going on every week with the ACM this fall:

Sunday - Veritas Worship Service, followed by Decent Pizza for only $1!
5 PM

Monday - Evening Prayer
7:30 PM

Join us every Monday night at 7:30 PM for dinner and evening prayer according to Rite 1 of the Book of Common Prayer. A venerable Anglican tradition in Tallahassee, Evening Prayer encompasses beautiful chanted prayers according to ancient melodies of the Church, as well as an extensive time of intercessory prayer for our needs and the needs of the world. A two-dollar donation is requested for food expenses. For more information about location, contact Rob De La Noval at anglicanfsu@gmail.com.

Tuesday
- Bible Study at the Wallace’s
7:30 PM

Every Tuesday night at 7:30 PM the guys and girls of the college group gather at the Wallace home to open up the Scriptures and encounter the God revealed in Jesus Christ. Thisfall the guys will be studying the books of Jonah and James with Fr. John Wallace, Rob De La Noval, and Phil Bowers and the girls will be continuing their study of the Gospel of John under the leadership of Ashley Wallace and Kris Bowers. After the study, the guys and girls will fellowship over a delicious homemade dessert. For more information, please contact Fr. John Wallace at fr.johnwallace@gmail.com, Ashley Wallace at johnandashley@gmail.com, or Rob De La Noval at anglicanfsu@gmail.com.

Wednesday - $1 Dinner and Classes at the Church
5 PM

There is no formal ACM event on Wednesdays, but all college students are invited to the church at 5:00 PM for a one-dollar dinner. Many wonderful and theologically stimulating classes will be offered at the church and at Taproots on Wednesdays, so be sure to take one if you’d like, or just enjoy the dinner and the rest of your Wednesday night!

Thursday - 20s and 30s Group
6:30 PM

The 20s/30s group is perfect for young professionals – single or married – in their 20s and 30s who are looking for weekly fellowship and Christian community. We meet year -round on Thursday nights at 6:30 for dinner, fellowship, bible study and prayer. We meet at a different home every week, so for more information, please contact Hannah Nelson and Chris Recinella at 20s30sgroup@gmail.com to get on our mailing list.

Friday - We so excited!

College Discipleship Groups & Bible Study 01/19/2011

We continue our exciting study of the Letter of Paul to the Ephesians. If you missed it last week, you missed it! But you can still join us for a wonderful time of letting God's Word inform our hearts and shape our lives!

The purpose of our time together on Wednesdays is to become more intentional about living the life God has purposed for us to live. Paul says in Ephesians 2:10 that "we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them." God made us for good works, and before the foundation of the world intended that those good works should be our way of life. By gathering together to study the Bible, to encourage one another, and to walk with each other, we can begin to become the people that God created and intends for us to be.

It's a great study. I hope you'll join us this Wednesday - January 19, 2011!

Dinner is great (seriously) and starts at 5:00pm. (Cost for dinner is only $1 for college students.) It's a great time to hang out and catch up with friends before the study.

At 6:15pm our Discipleship Group & Bible Study begins. We're out by 7:30.

Bring your bibles and an open heart! See you there!
